Aprèss
A wine bar with a casual, friendly atmosphere – a nice place to go for cup of
coffee as well. Food is limited.
In case you are wondering about the name, it used to be “Après” (the owner is
an avid skier) until it was pointed out that the name was already in use somewhere
else.

Thai Jantra
Described as “Thai fusion” cuisine, this is very good indeed. Thai Jantra is
scrupulous about sourcing their ingredients locally and seasonally – and they
seem to know what to do with them.
The flavours are fresh and distinctly Thai. They offer an early bird special
with 3 courses and a glass of wine. They can be very busy, so booking is recommended.

The Pax
Our pub across the river in Thorp Arch has recently changed owners and has had
a revamp. In fact, the former head chef from Thai Jantra is now the head chef
at the Pax, so you can get very good Thai food as well as a selection from a regular
menu and a specials board.
They offer a lunchtime Thai buffet (very reasonable), and Sunday lunch has been
highly praised. A nice place to go for a pint as well.
