LOCATION / DIRECTIONS
1 mile east of the A1.Just off the A659, 400 metres from the centre of Boston Spa near Wetherby, Four
Gables is an ideal stopping off place en route Scotland/London
Directions:
|
Leave the A1 at the A659 (1 mile south of Wetherby) and take signs for Tadcaster
and Boston Spa. Oaks Lane is on the right, about 1 mile from the A1 – but the
entrance to the lane is difficult to see when you come from the A1.
When you see the church up ahead on the left, start looking on the right – Oaks
Lane is immediately before a terrace of three pale brick Victorian Houses with
black & gold railings.
If you get to Westwood Way, you’ve gone too far – make a U-turn and come back.
(Note: the entrance to Oaks Lane is easier to see coming from the other direction,
so it may be just as easy to look for Westwood Way in the first place. Don’t
go into Westwood Way, though – just make a U-turn as if you’re going back to the
A1.)
Once you’re in Oaks Lane, Four Gables is 100 metres on the left after three garages & before the yew hedge. Pass through double oak gates and pull round to the right and park in front of the house. |

Parking:
Available on site. Oaks Lane is a private lane, and the garden is surrounded
by a solid yew hedge, so anyone driving by cannot see parked cars – i.e. it is
quite secure.
Within 20 minutes are:
- The historic city of York
- The spa town of Harrogate
- The city of Leeds
The Dales and North Yorkshire Moors are also easily accessible and right on the
doorstep are Harewood House and the market town of Wetherby.
